Probably one of the speediest construction projects ever undertaken in Los Angeles is Staples Center. Construction began in Spring 1998 and opened to the dulcet tones of Bruce Springteen in October 1999. Staples Center seats more than 18,000 fans for sporty events and 20,000 for concerts. There are 160 luxury suites, 13 event suites and 2,500 premier seats.
